1987 Porsche 944 Turbo Orings, shaft seals, bolt seals
I put this table together when I was trying to figure out what had been provided in the various seal kits and
engine rebuild kits I had bought. I bought a front seal kit, oil seal kit, lower block kit, head kit and still
needed a bunch of seals. Those kits also had a bunch of seals that were obviously for 944's with older style
oil coolers etc. Getting detailed info from the seller is not always easy or unambiguous. Also most of the
seals are not labelled so some kind of guide is helpful since it would be possible to use the incorrect seals
in some cases.
The "REQD" column below shows the numbers of each type of seal that I had to order after buying all
of the kits listed above.
The "Measured" column is for those seals which did not have dimensions listed in the workshop manual or the
parts manual (they may be on the PET CD). The measurements were taken against the Inside diameter and outside
diameter of whatever the seal is fitted to. Note that the seal will be different to those measured values to
ensure that the oring presses against the sealing surfaces. Hence the measurements are purely a rough guide as
to what sized seal fits that component.
